Statement on the Swearing-in of President Obama

Mississauga, Ontario - Louroz M. Mercader today made the following statement about the swearing in of President Barack Obama:
“Today marks an extraordinary moment in the history of our world with the inauguration of Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States.
This moment will forever be etched in the minds of so many of us as one of those moments for which you remember where you were and what you were doing when it happened.
President Obama's message of hope, is a message that resonates not just across the United States, but across Canada and around the world. He has inspired the hearts of many, especially the young and ethnic minorities. My generation and I expect some great things from this presidency.
I join with millions of young people from around the world in congratulating President Obama and am thrilled that Canada will soon welcome him here during his first official foreign visit.”
